Charlie Lindgren started 19 of the Capitals’ final 22 games, posting a record of 12-6-2 with a 2.39 goals-against average, a .919 save percentage and three shutouts. Lindgren’s 12 wins since March 7 rank first in the NHL in that span, while his three shutouts are tied for first. Lindgren, who started both games of Washington’s back-to-back set to close out the regular season, recorded a shutout on April 15 vs. Boston and stopped 27 of 28 shots faced on April 16 at Philadelphia to help the Capitals clinch a playoff berth.

Among goaltenders with 50 or more game played this season, Lindgren ranks seventh in save percentage (.911) and eighth in goals-against average (2.67). In addition, Lindgren’s six shutouts are tied for the most in the NHL.

Lindgren is expected to make his Stanley Cup Playoff debut against the New York Rangers in the First Round. In three game against the Rangers this season, Lindgren had a record of 2-1-0 with a 1.35 goals-against average and a .955 save percentage, including a 31-save shutout on Dec. 9 at Capital One Arena.
