After dropping Game 1 to the New York Rangers 4-1 on Sunday, the Capitals will look to even the series on Tuiesday at Madison Square Garden. During the regular season, Washington had a record of 15-10-6 following a regulation loss.

Three of the six defensemen that dressed for the Capitals in Game 1 are age 24 or younger (Martin Fehervary: 24; Alex Alexeyev: 24; Vincent Iorio: 21). The three defensemen, who are all Washington draft picks, have combined to play 114 games this season and 310 career NHL games (regular season and playoffs combined). On Sunday, Fehervary scored his first career playoff goal in his ninth career playoff game and skated a postseason career high 23:40. Alexeyev, who made his Stanley Cup Playoff debut in Game 1, has played in 27 of Washington’s last 28 games dating back to Feb. 24 after only appearing in 13 of the team’s first 55 contests.
